Study of a Headland

Updated: Dec 2, 2019

You may recognize this iconic place near my hometown of Lincoln City, Oregon. High up on a rocky cliff, there are grassy meadows and coastal forest overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This is Cascade Head, beloved by hikers, silverspot butterfly and Roosevelt elk. If you are on the central coast sometime, be sure to make time for a walk up the Nature Conservancy trail and you'll see this view. In late summer the brilliant greens shift to golden, and the high vantage point makes it seem like you are flying above the sea.
